About the Event

Foundation House presents "Climate and the Mind," a speaker series examining the relationship between human consciousness and behavior and the climate crisis. Join us for our first event in the series, led by Director of the Yale Program for Climate Change Communication, Dr. Tony Leiserowitz.

Americans have diverse and sometimes opposing views about global warming, fundamentally shaping the political reality of climate change. Drawing on more than a decade of national survey studies, Dr. Leiserowitz will explain recent trends in Americans' consciousness, attitudes, and behavior and discuss strategies to build public and political will for climate action.

Anthony Leiserowitz, Ph.D. is the JoshAni - TomKat Professor of Climate Communication at the Yale School of the Environment and Director of the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication. He is an internationally recognized expert on public climate change beliefs, attitudes, policy support, and behavior, and the psychological, cultural, and political factors that shape them. He conducts research worldwide, including in the United States, China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Ireland. In 2020, he was named the second-most influential climate scientist in the world by Reuters. He is also the host of Climate Connections, a radio program and podcast broadcast each day on more than 750 stations nationwide.

Light refreshments will be provided. This event is by invitation only.
